Veterinary Assistant-Internal Medicine Full-time San Antonio, TX Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists San Antonio is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. About You Role Responsibilities: Internal Medicine assistants perform a variety of animal-health duties and ensure quality pet and client care. They should be proficient in duties including but not limited to: pet parent communication, anesthesia, patient monitoring, venipuncture, patient recovery, and medical math. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of anesthetics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory techniques, and general patient care. They should be able to remain calm during stressful situations. Our Ideal Candidate:- Has knowledge of basic veterinary practices
- Experience in specialty veterinary medicine-preferably Internal Medicine
- Able to appropriately handle animals
- Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
- Recent experience in a veterinary practice
- Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice
- Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures
- Patient care experience required
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills
- High school diploma or GED
