We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician.

St Pete Beach Veterinary Clinic is privately-owned, provides services for cats and dogs including general wellness, illness, surgery, dentistry, radiographs, in house diagnostics and ultrasound. Duties

-Assist the veterinarian during physical examinations and procedures.
-Place intravenous catheters.
-Produce thorough written medical records and critically evaluate patient records.
-Prepare, induce and maintain anesthesia for canine and feline patients.
-Provide dental prophylaxis, cleaning, charting and produce high quality dental radiographs with efficiency.
-Conduct in house laboratory tests using IDEXX in house machines or SNAP tests, perform urinalysis, ear and skin cytology.
-Obtain blood samples from cats and dogs.
-Educate pet owners on preventative care, follow up and chronic medical conditions.
-Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort and safety during treatment. Fear Free certification required [will train].
-Acquire high quality radiographs.
-Prepare prescription medications.
-Communicate with clients via email, phone and text. Provide follow up and phone consultations for a variety of client needs.
-Provide office support, scheduling and process payments.
-Clean and maintain medical / surgical equipment and facilities.
-Contribute to positive workplace culture and engage in team development.

Requirements

Qualifications

-5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine
-Positive, professional attitude and a willingness to help.
-Hard working, self-motivated and reliable.
-Flexible, adaptable and willing to learn.
-A compassionate approach to working with animals and their owners is essential.
-Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology
-Pass a reference check, pre-employment background check and drug screening.
