Introduction Our client is a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their team in Bohemia, NY. The hospital provides advanced emergency and specialty care, serving the Long Island community with a strong reputation for excellence in medicine and collaboration across disciplines. Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year. This is a full-time position with flexibility to work day or overnight shifts, depending on preference and availability. Weekend and holiday coverage is required as part of the emergency team's schedule. Role Description and Responsibilities The Emergency Veterinarian will manage a wide range of urgent and critical cases, working closely with specialists in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and dermatology. Responsibilities include providing high-quality emergency care, performing diagnostic evaluations, stabilizing critical patients, and collaborating with specialty services to ensure comprehensive treatment. This role is open to experienced veterinarians as well as new graduates, with mentorship opportunities available to support professional development. Practice Details The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools including ultrasound, in-house laboratories, MRI, CT scan, fluoroscopy, and a fully equipped rehabilitation department. Team The hospital currently has nine Emergency DVMs, along with a team of board-certified specialists and a highly skilled support staff.
